Christianity in the Digital World

In today’s world, many question whether attending an online service is truly different from sitting in a church and listening to a pastor. For some, the sense of community and love found in a physical church is what matters most, but this may not always be the case for everyone. Given the state of certain churches today, sometimes individuals find themselves choosing between the lesser of two evils.

When faced with such a decision, it’s important to ask: “Is this contributing to my spiritual growth?” If the answer is yes, then it’s worth pursuing.

For some, an online friend may provide more guidance in their faith than a local church. For others, a Bible app may encourage them to read more chapters than they would on their own. Growing spiritually online is just as meaningful as growing in person. The love God has for each person remains constant, as long as He is given the glory and honor He deserves.

So, the next time someone faces the choice of skipping an engaging Bible study with online friends to sit in a church where they don’t feel welcome, they should choose what will help them grow closer to God. Ultimately, spiritual growth is what matters most — wherever it takes place.
